No, That’s Not (Traditional)Plastic
As much as I love creating, I have, over the years, struggled with finding a way of wrapping my products in a way that is environmentally friendly and visually appealing. As you know, Tabbyvon Bath and Body is located in Oregon. We are a very green state and as such, we tend to focus on protecting the environment.
I’ve tried naked soaps, cigar bands, cute paper packaging. Nothing ever really stuck. Then, I decided to use the same wrapping that I use for bath bombs. Biolefin.
To best explain what Biolefin is, I’ll just quote from AI ( I know, I know)….” Biolefin is a type of oxo-biodegradable polyolefin film used as shrink wrap. It’s designed to break down in landfills through a process of chemical and biological degradation, ultimately converting into biomass. This degradation is facilitated by microorganisms that consume the film after it absorbs moisture”
Because Biolefin is compostable and is 100% biodegradable, You can either utilize a large scale composting facility or, you can compost it at home. Keep in mind, at home composting of biolefin will take approximately 2 - 3 years.
When you purchase from Tabbyvon Bath and Body, you can feel comfortable with disposing of the packaging along with your composting and recycling.
